Republicans No Longer Have Lock On Idaho

Bill Sali is defying the political odds by making Idaho's firstdistrict congressional race competitive. That isn't good for Mr. Sali: He is the incumbent.

A 54yearold Republican from Kuna, 18 miles from Boise, Mr. The district hasn't elected a Democrat to the House since 1992; in the 2004 presidential race, 69% of its votes went to George W. Bush.

But through slow fund raising and a combative reputation, Mr. Sali has become vulnerable to his Democratic challenger, Walt Minnick, a businessman with little political experience.

Idaho's Conservative Mormon concentration is quite high, just like in Utah cheap north face jacket and NorthEastern / Mesa Arizona, making the Jello Belt a certain cinch for McCain.

Many people in Idaho realize Republicanism is not what it used to be. The political culture gurus of Tom DeLay, Newt Gingrich, and principally the Bush Cheney duet, are proven too heavy and undesirable a load for America, so anybody supporting their wrong and failed policies is at risk.

Bill Sali is an idiot. He proudly proclaimed Idaho the reddest of red states. He claims abortion causes breast cancer. I could list all of his stupid votes but the Daily Kos has done it so cheap the north face jackets much better, see link below. We are finally seeing some DNC money. It will be a slow road but maybe we can paint this state purple. We can only hope the masses that have Ron Paul signs in their yard will vote for Bob Barr or stay home. For the future a high school in the most conservative county in Idaho voted overwhelmingly for Obama in a mock election.

We only have the audacity of hope.

Slap me if I am wrong but aren't we beginning to see a trend here. First it was the special election in Illinois ( which the democrats won from the republicans) Next it was the "SAFE" republican seat in Louisiana that the Dems won in another Special election. Then everyone was shocked when possibly the most conservative state in the nation elected another Dem to a long held Rep seat in Mississippi.

Now IDAHO!!!??? I think this is going to get a lot worse for the Republicans than people are anticipating. I for one say great. I would love to see the Republicans destroyed for centuries to come.

When you look at the slow fundaraising for Republicans and the ugly environment where even Republicans are tired of each other, it is easy to see why Obama is embarking on a "50 State Strategy". It just makes sense.

Even if Obama doesn't win Idaho, just the fact that it is in play, will force McCain to pour resources into this Republican state state. In fact, Obama is leading in Montana and Arizona right now, and that will force McCain to pour resources into those Republican states as well.
